I have been getting reports over the past few days about someone camping at our trailhead, which is on private property. Got a text early this morning, rolled out, drove over, took photos (guy in his 20s sleeping in a beat up VW), woke him up and told him to leave. He got feisty, I dialed 911, he departed.
Tired after yesterday's ride up high'ish in the mountains.
I should ride again today as the weather isn't great at all tomorrow and Monday looks suspect too.

And... our individual is reported back "looking angry". The Vermont State Police are on their way to attend to him.
I shall loop the Single Speed out to Falcon and back. Shelving to put up in garage, lawn to mow. Catan with friends this afternoon.
Coffee today. Storms throughout the day, do probably just Legos with the kids intermixed with some chores. Probably hop on the trainer at some point. Tonight is pizza night.

I guess weekend mornings are old guy time at the skatepark. We were cheering each other on and comparing Geritol doses. I slammed like a mofo and tapped out.

I was planning on a ride this morning but I decided I needed more sleep. So now its project time. New kitchen screen door is now 90% painted (last 10% has to wait for the rest to dry so I can get to it). need to mow the lawns before it hits 90. Beer, Hammock and BBQ after that.
Washington state had a fair amount of naked hikers when I lived there, I never saw any but those that did were not impressed by naked old men.
Careful there, claiming to be "John something" isn't a fool's game. Also - who wants visitors anyway?

88* and stupid humid after a week of rain. hiked with fam and cleared/hacked out drains as we went. beer and pizza time!
Holiday Pro hint: hang your hammock low enough so that minimal effort is required to grab the next beer out of the cooler.
Got one yesterday. Called ahead expecting to wait days or perhaps weeks. They asked if 2pm was okay. Easy-peasy.

Screen door from the Kitchen to the back yard is finished. Ruth came up with the great idea to add a push bar so that you could easily open it with a plate of food and a drink in your hands.
Holy hell. A buddy had a big ass maple tree that was half dead, so he had it dropped. It's cut into 16" rounds, but the bottom is 3+ feet wide. I took out a good section of the middle. Just split it into movable chunks, that was enough for today. I told him if he doesn't have any takers, I'll grab a chainsaw and section up some of those rounds.
Baked bread, then spent most of the day in a veggie garden, rode with a buddy, beers, now baked pizza, moar beers. More yard work, beers and riding tomorrow.
Decided to check out some squiggles on a map. At the beginning it was sweet, at the end it was interesting.
29mi and 3300ft of vert isn't to shabby for the South.
I traversed the mountain in the back from south to north. Last bit had 8mi pavement to get to my car
and what I thought was 2~3mi singletrack at the end of this dove field.
Unfortunately 9yr old map was no bueno and
no trail was found;bike portage thru raw forest up -12% grade back to car.

And mountain biking is so much fun I snagged three shuttles in Chattanooga before sunset.
