too many effing wheelchairs yesterday. neck and shoulders are still from hopping up and down off the raised wheelchair lift ( one arm pull ups, high steps, its a hella workout). I was thing of a ride but maybe I will just take the dogs for a long hike instead.

Went to bed after a night of drinking, woke up @ 4:30 screaming headache, took Advil. Just got back from Starbucks for some food and a large cup of their famous burned coffee grounds. Going on a bike ride in 1.5 hours. Advil still has not kicked in.:banghead:

Oh Well.......................

Day started pleasantly with a nice walk in the woods by myself.

Then I was trapped and had to awkwardly be present for my wife confronting her mother about what is likely the beginning stages of dementia. File that under things I don't want to do again but will probably have to.

Working since 7AM, waiting for an email back from Microsoft on a potential SQL Server bug. I'd rather be riding bikes.

HR can blow me.

I need a plan for today. Time to make some coffee and write up a list.
Fuck yo' list shit. Just go out and Carpe diem, muthafukka.

You can "wait for an email" on the way down Chimney Gulch, ya know.

And my partner is doing the same. Between that and isolation due to the pandemic, I'm close to losing it myself.
Dad? Is that you?

@Adventurous - dealing with the same thing with my mom right now. She's 78. Her mom had it and she could never deal with it then; lived in fear of having dementia/alzheimers herself...I think she's now grappling with it a bit but I think the route they're taking (trying various anti-anxiety meds) is still not really the right one. Not sure if she's even had a proper cognitive test yet. C'est la vie, I suppose...

Sorry to hear that. Its a sad way to have the tail end of your life play out.

In MIL's case, her dad had it too, and he lived with them the last 2 years of his life, so she's intimately aware of the burden it places upon the caregiver.

Honestly not sure the best way to approach getting help or early treatment. I think deep down her mom knows but doesn't want to go to the doctor and face the realization that it's true.

Watching my wife and friends struggle with aging parents is rough. Both my parents died well before reaching that stage, which was awful, but seems ‘easier’ than managing this scenario.

I sent a small package to parents at the end of May. It finally arrived last week. No delivery updates since "cleared customs in some NY processing center" a day after I had sent it.

I miss this. I miss life.

Hang in there John. I am pretty sure I am dealing with low to mid grade depression triggered by my life decisions of the past 10 years, and my wife is completely ignorant. We'll get through this crap and ride somewhere nice again, man!

Taking the family (5 of us who live together) into the bush for a quick 3 night trip.
Everything is now done online, so we will not have to interact with anybody.
One gas stop required, and pay at the pump rules.
Early to bed, and getting up about 3 am or so.
Canoes go into the water about 10 am tomorrow morning if all goes well.
Break-time is about over, so back to packing backpacks and food barrel.

Weather report. :banghead:

Today - Sunny.
Sunday - Rain Showers for the paddle in
Mon - Thunderstorms
Tues - Thunderstorms
Wed - Sunny for the paddle out.

At least is should be dry to paddle out...

2020 sucks so far. Sorry for all the Monkeys having to go through bad life stuff.
Had my fare share the past 3 years.

Had myself a pretty decent ride this morning, Dogless, so had to go for a walk with them. Now I had one strong IPA and feeling a bit like jello. Le tired.
