rained a bunch last night...it's moist but cool-ish for porch coffee. wife going to yoga; /me going to pick up 14yo from friends house then all of us going to 19yo's 3x black belt ceremony this afternoon. probably make pizzas for dinner.

pondering whether to try to tear down and re-tape front wheel so it holds air or just say fuck it and leave the tube in...

Lazy start to the day so far.

I need to go swap out the broken pawls in my hub, swap out to a shorter dropper and then perhaps go for a ride?

The sun is out, so have to take advantage.

Flying back to Denmark today. Had an amazing time and great to see so many good friends again. Ended up with Covid at the beginning of the trip which ruined my bike plans but besides that it’s been great. Hope to be back soon unless Trump runs it into the ground.

Hub has been patched up and seat post installed.

It's balls hot and I made the mistake of cracking a beer, so motivation is low. Aborting the ride and will stay here for more beer and possibly a stroll to the lake.

Mt. Lion kicked my ass today, even on an e-bike. But my ass is definitely out of practice, if you know what I mean. :brows:

Ford Maverick had rhino lining sprayed into the bed today. My homie picked me up when I dropped off the truck and we went into the woods for some mountain bicycling. It was as dry and loose as I've seen it, so many baby heads waiting to take out riders. Fun stuff!

I think it rained every day last weekend, trails were perfect. nice timing amigo.

Going for tacos. BRB.
Eleventy million people driving up Washington Gulch and Scofield Pass Rd were the biggest issue, along with the flies on Scofield Rd.

I'm here in Salem, OR for my race tomorrow and an LBS just saved my ass from my self-inflicted mechanical. I accidentally cut the electronic shifter wire on the rear shifter pod when I cut my handlebar tape to mount my new computer bracket. Sliced that wire right in half. Fucking stupid. The wire can't just be fixed. The entire pod needs to be replaced. The on-site race mechanics could not fix it. Fortunately there is a bike shop right by the race and they were able to sell me and install a new shifter pod. They did it right away and I am good to go. They charged me for the shifter pod and did not charge for labor. I had to get the bike to the transition area for check-in and didn't have much time to spare. I would have singlespeeded the race if I had to.

Scott's Cycles in Salem, OR. :thumb: I tipped the mechanic $20.

It’s pouring rain. It will be humid tomorrow morning. I’m still going to get up and go for a short run.

I don’t like running but need to get back to it if I’m going to race again. Going to the track today was an eye opener. As expected, will use riding to train as well.
