This is a copy of a post from mtbr about silverton mtn. dh riding. I wish this was a little closer to the front range:
"The new downhill bike park at Silverton Mountain opens this Friday. Lift serviced 1,900 vertical with 6 trails. All trails are double black riding with drops, jumps, and ladders. 12 new tabletops, and several new drops have been added this month. A new section of trail featuring a 15' cliff drop is also underway.
Since we added 2 fulltime trailbuilders this year, improvements are sprouting up each week. If you can't make it to Whistler this year, come to Silverton instead for a smaller version of Whistler style trails. Fri, Sat and Sun 9am to 3:30 (weather permitting) for only $15 a day. see silvertonmountain.com for photos of the first improvements, more photos on the way.
We at Silverton Mountain love the sport of downhilling / freeriding!"
