They are really simple:

A marshmallow and a slab of chocolate sandwiched between two graham cracker squares and cooked over a fire until the marshmallow and chocolate melt. Sooooo good.

They ARE good especially compared to fish jello. Isn't that what the brits eat for desert?

Dude, your not really missing anything. They are nothing but simple carbs, (sugar), and loads of fat. Good to try at least once I suppose although I never have either.

you certainly can't say you aren't missing out on anything if you've never tried them. Made with reduced fat graham crackers and darker chocolate cuts the fat in half and reduces quite a bit of the sugar in them. But you should never NEVER be concerned about the nutritional content of camping desserts.
