Managed to shear the head off the pinch bolt of my Charge Regular cranks earlier, so need to get something else sorted fast as having to tighten up the main bolt every twenty minutes is getting old. I've been thinking of going back to the 3-piece cranks that came with the bike (Commencal Absolut Cro-Mo 06) but have no clue what BB I would need

It's currently got a RaceFace external BB that's given up the ghost too, rather than just get another one I want to try something different. What do I need?

cut a groove in what's left of your pinch bolt, remove it, reinstall new pinch bolt, preload and tighten cranks and you're all set to go.

Alas no. It only sheared off because I was desperately trying to tighten it yet again - I'm pretty sure the splines have been damaged since it just will not stay tightened.
