After riding chainless at Mammoth 1 day, Northstar 4 days, and Whistler 7 days that doesn't happen.

Okay, it almost kind of happened once on freight train...but you get used to it and remember. It's helped get off the brakes and makes me pump the hell out of everything.

where everyone is
those serious about winning the chainless race will have foot pegs (not cranks) and no derailleur or cassette...maybe even some 30lb plates attached to their bike.

As long as there is no climbing necessary I do, all drive chain parts seem to do for me is break, and make me spend money to replace them.
I really enjoy riding chainless too.....kinda takes the BS out of it and you can focus on the trail, working the terrain, learning to trust your tires, work on cornering skills, and trying to stay off the brakes.....plus it's quiet and you don't have to drop more cash everytime you smoke your der. off a rock.....that being said, there are definitely some trails that are less fun chainless, and at leas tin whistler, they managed to decrease the flow somehow in the past few years making riding chainless much less appealing....my new trick end of last season and early this season before getting my new rig was an old der. with the limit screw fully in, no shifter, just a straight up single speed.....although it was on my old bb7 that had a broken upper pulley.....
