Chance to balance your Karma. This is the group that maintains Braille trail and several others. The trailday this weekend (Sunday the 13th) is at the Demo Forest. On the last trailwork day we replaced the old teeter-totter with a new one, and added the small A-frame in the same area

This is one of the funner legal trails in the area, and deserves support. You can sign up for the trailday here:

I realize most here will be at Tahoe the next weekend (including me), but they are putting in new sigletrack in Skeggs. It might be a good time to make sure the trail has some cool features.

Here a copy of the invitation letter from Charles:

Trailworkers

I know there are a bunch of you out there saying to yourselves "I feel so
guilty for not paying my dues" Well, it may not be too late after all. We
have three more trailwork events on the calendar this month, and with them
comes three more opportunities to say thanks to local land managers for
providing the sweetest trails around.

On Sunday, June 13, we are meeting at the Soquel Demonstration State Forest
to complete our annual trail maintenance rounds. This time we will be
working up on the Ridge Trail, brushing back sections of trail that are
becoming overgrown, doing some tread repair and realignment on last year's
new sections of trail, and clearing the ATV bypass around the rock garden
near Saw Pit. Meeting time is 8:30 at the parking lot on Highland, coffee
and tools will be provided by the Stewards of Soquel Forest and ROMP.

Saturday, June 19 and Saturday, June 26 promise a new experience for
everyone on this list. The Mid Peninsula Regional Open Space District is
recruiting cyclists to construct a reroute of the current Blue Blossom
Trail in El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve. Blue Blossom has an
incredibly steep section that is getting progressively wider and more
eroded with time and use, and it has now caught the attention of the water
quality folks for the effects it is having downstream on Steelhead
habitat. ROMP and MROSD have had a couple crews out sighting a new trail
that will be longer than the old one, much narrower, and wind through Oaks
and Madrones with lots of rises and drops on the way to the end of the
existing trail.

We hope the new Blue Blossom will be as fun and sustainable as the Leaf
Trail has proven to be, and MROSD wants cyclist input to ensure this. We
are meeting at 9:00am to start work at 9:30 and you must RSVP to be part of
this work day. ROMP will be providing tools, coffee, and fatty snacks for
workers. MROSD will have staff on hand to help out with trail work and to
shuttle workers to the trail. The Specialized Bicycle Company is working
on a special commemoration for the volunteers that participate in this
event as well. Workers are also welcome to ride or hike in to the site,
and we plan to work until 3:30. We have a lot of work to do on this trail,
and we also have plans to work on other ECdM trails once this project is
complete. If you don't have the stamina or interest in tilling the soil,
we can use your help setting up in the morning, or cleaning up in the
afternoon. We also could use a photographer to help us record this event.

For any of these three days, you should wear long sleeves and pants and
bring water and a snack you can carry on the trail. We will provide gloves
for those that have none. You will provide the labor that makes a land
manager want to open more trails and open spaces to more trail users. If
you haven't donated 20 hours of your time keeping trails open yet this
year, you should do it now. If you know anyone else who maybe ought to
feel guilty, you can help spread the word among them by forwarding this
message. Let's all come cleanse our consciences together! Besides, I'm
really counting on a good turn out and if you don't show, I'm gonna look
really bad. Bad! Like someone who's doing false advertising! Someone who
can't deliver on a promise! I told these folks you'd be there! Don't let
me be embarrassed by a weak turnout. I'd be SO ashamed :-( and so would
you :-((

I am very interested to help in building trails at Demo. I've been away from RideMonkey for a while and didn't see this post till today (the 17th). Sad that I missed it. Will there be more this summer? Nothing was listed on that webpage.
