What's the difference? There are no dealers around here so I can't look at them in person, but from the sportworks site, the actual carrier mechanism looks the same. Seems like the Transport series is a full on carrier while the mod series is the same thing, just modular. Is there more to it than that?

I think the mod's capabilities as far as weight may be the different than the transport. I've got the transport DH two-bike receiver set up and it is literally bombproof.

if you'll be carrying bikes over 35 lbs i would go with their "freeride" model.
