I have a friend that bought a used 03/04 Giant DH comp. It currently has a 600lb spring on a RS Deluxe and seems way oversprung. anyone know of a resource to determine the proper spring rate for this frame?

Also, where can springs be found for the RS Deluxe shock?

If it has a RS deluxe it is an 02. The spring rate is 3:1.

Hippietech are the only people in North America with any Prodeluxe parts left. I would wager an RC spring would fit though. Those shocks really suck. Buy ANYTHING else and throw it on there, soon.

Started as an 02. Warrantied the rear end in 03 and the front end in 04

I have told him the shock is dudu...

What I am asking is what spring on that bike for someone in the 165-175lb range?

man you never told us how much you weigh, but i would say get a swinger on there cause thats one bike it felt amazing on.
