So i have a DJ bike with an 11-21 cassette out back w/ a 32 tooth front ring and i was wondering if i could run a Rival short cage derailer (10 speed) and an X.7 (9 speed) trigger shift. Anybody know if this would work or not dont wanna spend the money if it wont.

I think it might...they both use an "exact actuation" meaning for every 1 unit of cable the shifter pulls the derailleur moves that same amount. That being said...why put a road derailleur on a dirt jumping bike?

hey guys they will not work together im afraid, the mtb shifting is not exact 1-1 but the road is so you will find you will only get a select range of gears and the rest will nt engage

Get a short cage X.9, I cannot imagine any reason you cannot buy them... just look for it in the right places or order with your bike shop.
