try calling it in to some nyc bike shops:

Sids ( Midtown )
Larry and Jeffs ( Uptown East )
Tread Bike Shop ( Bronx )
Roys Sheedhead Cycle ( Brooklyn )
Metro Bikes ( Couple of different Locations throughout city )
Bayridge Bikes ( Brooklyn )

Have you contacted NYPD?

You should also try putting the word out on this, in case it rolls into one of these shops. GOOD LUCK !!!

can i ask how it happened? sounds like you had some contact with the guy, did he come out to look at it then steal it? hold you at gunpoint?

sorry to pry, i'm just curious. I've been on the look for a 951 so I'll keep my eye out. Be aggressive with your pursuit, and put "intense 951 site:craigslist.org/bik/" into google on a regular basis. You'll see your bike if it's anywhere on CL's bike section, but it may take a day or two to show up.

This what happened. My dad went out of the car to meet the guy to make sure he was ok before i was introduced to him. I got out of the car shook the guys hand. Unloaded the bike from my car. I had just put it down on 2 wheels. Not even a minute after the guy had ripped it from my grip and took off. I thought maybe hes just testing it. He went down the road a little and didnt show signs of coming back. some bystander was lkike he got you, he aint coming back. Thats when I began to chase him with a crowbar. I eventually stopped and called 9-1-1 after waiting for 15 minutes for the cops they finally showed up only to give me excuses as to why they couldlnt search for the guy

NEWS UPDATE

A friend spotted the bike yesterday at around 2:00 on the Pelham Parkway with a guy matching my description riding it. The witness didnt know it was stolen, but took note of the guy and got the direction as to where the guy was leaving and heading to. He was a biker himself and noticed a lower class man riding a super expensive bike as if it was a commuter bike on a highway side. So the bike is on the move and aparently not loaded into a van

If he's joy riding it he's going to stick out like a sore thumb, but don't get to excited, all it takes is one person that knows what he has to offer him money and then it's gone. Pray that he likes to look cool on his new whip.

Ya i know the plus is that the cops were most likely wrong. The police predicted he had thrown it in a get away van around the corner and taken off and was long gone. But aparently not if he was joy riding it. Being a low class NYer riding a 5000 DH bike thats bright white and red will stick out like a sore thumb.

I'd have your father contact the police or go to the precinct, pull the tax payer card and tell them he was driving around looking for the bike and he seen the guy riding it and gave chase, but could not get through traffic to catch him. give location, pics and value of bike.

Just doing some research on my bike and the NYPD. stealing more than $3000 is considered Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, Punishable up to 7 years in jail and is a Class D felony. For it not to be taken seriously and the NYPD let a felon walk is against the law and if need be I could file a report/law suit

Another person Who saw the Alert responded to me. Said she heard of an Intense DH mountain bike rolling into Danny's Cycles in Scarsdale, NY only 20 miles from the Crime. Dannies cycles ended up not taking the bike from what I hear as it was suspicous. Possibly the shop has some info. Calling them tomorrow. Thanks everyone for posting alerts and keeping their eyes open. maybe I will be re united with Delila hopefully.

don't stop at contacting dannies, call all area shops, they will be happy to notify police if he comes in. To put a bike thief behind bars is every persons dream that had has a bike stolen and that's alot of us.

if I worked at a shop and someone brought in a suspicious bike I would keep it for "repairs" or "appraisal" and tell the guy to come back in a day or two. Sounds like this guy is pretty confident he won't get caught

Sure sounds like it. He has another thing coming. I am so close to finding him. He seems like he likes showing off his wheels. People saw him pedaling it around town so if they see him again my bikes gonna be home

Good luck dude, it sounds like you're close! I once tackled a mexican kid off of a friends stolen bike. The satisfaction of saving my friends bike was priceless. Plus the kid (probably 16) was knocked out cold. He was coming down a hill and I caught him from the side with a body check over the curb. Karma came back to him hard and fast. ;) The dumbest part is that I got the bike back less than 500yds from where it was stolen three days earlier. Be sure to check around the area it was stolen from.

Karma will get him. I have some buddies who frequently travel the stretch of area he was spotted last. They say if they see him again they won't leave without my bike. Whether they run the guy over with their car, draw their gun or just beat the living **** out of the guy who stole my bike. If its spotted again I wil be re united

Earned money cutting Lawns-Yes- Quint's Landscaping

Delivered the bike with my father to a guy in the bronx. The guy in the Bronx said he was planning on buying it. Got there, the "buyer" had set me up. Sat on the bike and took off. I originally thought he was just testing at first. Until a bystander Yelled. "He gotchu, he aint coming back". Then I gave chase. Me only being to the bronx for a yankee game twice, I didnt know my way around the Bronx and didnt intend on getting lost, so my father called 9-1-1

earned the money cutting lawns... right.

west milford NJ spending all his time with the latinos in the bronx... right. at 14. right.

and the Blame the Mexicans! angle is precious as hell!

I just wonder why a guy in his 30s pretends to be a 14 year old.

Original poster is in fact what he claims to be.

Sure and I'm 3 years old and won the UCI World Cup DH series for 0-5 year olds in 2011, 2010 and 2009 on a custom Merlin Ti FS bike with 4" travel rear and 5" travel front. I won every single race.

I'm pretty precocious for a 3 year old. I mean, I won the series when I was only 1 year old.

You sure do sound about as mature as a small child. Kid had his bike stolen get off his back and quit trolling this thread.

Here's an idea, if you dont have anything helpful to help the kid that keep your mouth shut. Last thing the kid needs is some a$$hole yammering on...

Hope the bike makes it way home safely.
