You might want to look at something more in the lines of 25-10
or 27-12 for 24's wheels

I run 27-11 on my 26" bike and it's pretty steep , this is also the lowest gear my 24" geared bike goes into and is the perfect gear for street when you ened to get on it , but most of the time I ride around in 27-12 or 27-13 these seem to be my favorite gear combos for 24'wheels

For my 26" I have a 38t sprocket and 2 cogs; a 19t for things that require getting up to speed quicker, and a 17t for longer rides.

If you have a 10t driver I'd go with 23-10 or 24-10... I've been running 23-10 for a while now and really like it.

Animal, Profile and Primo make 23's.
