I've never bashed my downtube on anything, even on really rocky trails. Do you ride flats or clipless Loco?

That's because it rains in the commonwealth.

Riding in a bunch of dry loose stuff kicks things up into your downtube even just from rolling over it.

I don't know, but I have some work to do on a pedal spring from slamming a rock. First time I have had that happen. I have some springs, so I'll see how hard it is to pull the pin on the carbon Atacs.
