was talking with a friend about ti hardware, anyone know where i can find more information about it, ie price, wieght savings and stupid stuff like that?
ti hardware has about the tensile strength of steel with a weight savings of 1/3. Search here and rm for ti hardare and you should be able to find some links for vendors
if you dont wanna lay out so much $$ try your local machine shop, I work at an exhaust and restoration shop and when we need specific bolts and such made we give the machine shop a call and they usually go pretty inexpensively, I would only guess the same would be for TI
I did Ti hardware on my R9 because the price was right, and it's the off season. I replaced 39 pieces total, and saved alittle over 100g, roughly 1/4 of a pound.

Yeah, I think Intense missed the boat on this one, in theory all dissimilar metals in conatct will create some galvanic action and could cause the type of reaction they refer to. However in practice this does not occur on a bike frame unless you keep it soaked in somthing like a conductive solution "saline bath" or " seawater " where this reaction would occur to the extent of damaging the paint finish etc.
I haved used Ti hardware for the past 4 years on both an Intense M1 and an M3 and have never seen any type of corrosion etc.
Looks like an isolated case that they want to keep from having to go through warranty.
Damn, Seeing those prices makes me think I should sell off the bags of TI hardware I have....
I learned the lesson to only use the TI bolts in places where you can get to the broken end. Ti bolts seem to snap alot easier than Steel. Also, if you do get a Ti kit, make sure you get some good ole Ti prep to keep the bolt from seizing.
