Well, our ski "experience" isn't nearly as cool as the scene in CO so I wouldn't suggest that
There's Dinosaur BBQ joint(s) in town that are pretty good. As for fine dining ??? I haven't experiened it personally so I wouldn't presume to recommend anything.
There's the Everson Museum of Art, and Corning Museum (in nearby Corning, NY), but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
if you go to altmar ny, its fly fishing only but its the end of the road for the fish, and you dont need waders. the fish stack up there and are pretty easy pickins... its fun
If you have a car while you are there, Nagra Falls in just East of Buffalo. It is around a 2 or 2.5 hour drive from Syracuse, but a great way to waste a day. A word of advice: go to the Canandian side (cheapest and fastest way to cross the border is to park on the US side and walk across the bridge). The American side is underdeveloped, but the Canadian side has 2 casinos, attractions, a jet boat that goes into the falls, etc...

Plattekill is 3 hours away...it's the last race of the season, and may be the last chance to get on a bike for....me.
If you have a bike, do yourself a favor and go to skytop. I can tell you where it is if you'll actually go. They are some pretty rad trails there.
Check out Clark's ale house for good roast beef and beer and around the corner is the Landmark theater which is pretty awesome inside...if it's open. Stay out of the ghetto.
Syracuse is my hometown. Go to the dinosour, also.
Go to skytop...heck I'd meet up with you for a ride if you need a guide. I can't comment too much on what to do there despite living there for 4 years. My main activities centered around biking and drinking...other then that I can't comment much except its really cloudy.
The blue tusk is pretty cool, they have a good beer selection. Welcome to my life for 4 years...and heck pretty much my whole life because rochester isnt much better. I remeber spans of like 2 weeks where I don't recall seeing the sun

I worked on a job in Rochester for two weeks. Came in to work before the sun rose. Left after sunset. Worked in the center of a large plant with no windows in sight, ate at a cafeteria with no windows. I'm pretty white to start off, after those two weeks I was damn near transparent.
