I don't mean drunk, but exhausted on that long country road, driving in the fog or a snowstorm. Shadows seem like foes, and danger is around every bend.
"Mogwai Fear Satan," "Christmas Steps," and "2 Rights Make 1 Wrong," by Mogwai, and the f#a#infinity album by godspeed you! black emperor. Mostly long instrumental songs. If I had to choose a top one for driving down a long country road, it would be Mogwai Fear Satan.
When i would drive wasted *drunk* for some reason I would always through in dogs off the animals album by pink floyd. I would always end up in a bad situation, hence I don't drink and drive anymore. Drinking and driving is stupid, I almost killed my best friend. I know this thread isn't about drinking and driving though.
When I'm tired and on the road, I listen to apocalyptica
Willin'
Lyrics: Lowell George
Music: Lowell George
A Little Feat song played by Paul Barrere and Bill Payne with Phil & Friends.
I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty, don't you know
And I'm still
Willin'
And I was out on the road late at night
And I seen my pretty Alice in every head light
Alice
Dallas Alice
Chorus
And I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me
Weed, whites, and wine
And you show me a sign
I'll be willin'
To be movin'
I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stoved in, but I'm still on my feet
And I'm still
Willin'
Now I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico
Baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico
And I'm still
gotta saw that hearing 'expressway to yr skull' over NZ radio while driving around Dunedin (home of bruce russell's Xpressway label) was pretty special.
Every long roadtrip I take I seem to end up in somekind of ****storm heavy rain or snow. I just turn the music off put the steering wheel into a death grip and go into some kind of zone. My best trip was driving back up to school through a blizzard after Easter one year. It was a 350 mile trip but my trip odometer read over 450 from all the wheel spin.
