Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
In honor of Manimal, Manimal's lush wife and jimmydean.....

I was being arrested for assaulting two police officers. The first was for taking a swing at cop #1 for him trying to remove my bicep from my arm. And the second was hurting the other policeman's hand by repeatedly banging my face against it. Of course that was all preceeded by just one drink too many.

That was 18 years or so ago.

And yours?

Mine was for putting a dummy face down in the gutter on the side of a road. This was 5 years ago. Haha. Goodtimes. I miss you Jug Head.

i was bored at a mall in florida one summer i went with my folks, and since i didnt have any money i asked the nearby cop for a ride back to the hotel, daffy duck style.

my folks did not think that was funny.

I got picked up for supposedly 'violating my probation', got a ride to the clink from work, spent 4 days inside. Went in front of the judge, and he said that I had met the terms of my probation, and let me go. My old PO is the one person, given the chance, I would put a loaded .44 to his head and pull the trigger.

I've never been in a cop car. I find it hard to beleive too. It just comes down to the fact that all my friends are much slower than I am.

Bout 4 months ago. Arrested for tresspassing on public water reserve. Was partying and had alchohol. I was the only one out of like 30 who got caught, and they were not happy that every one else got away. Made me and my buddy pay 90 bucks, and put out the fire with all our beer. Oh yeah, and i got a ride for 'being a smart ass' because i put my hands on 'his ****ing car'. Some cops are just dicks, this was totally one.

I was in the wrong part of town, in a crack hole, with an idiot friend trying to buy a dime bag(he was...not me. I was just trying to get a ride home from school). I was off the hook when they realized I had nothing on me, but only after the asshole squeezed the $hit out of my balls during the pat down. Thank goodness I grew out of my stupid-hanging-around-with-idiots phase.

the last time i was in the back of a cop car was.....

in ninth grade i was walking back to school at lunch and me and my friend saw a stoner from our school who didnt have a shirt on walking down the street so we went over to him and he said he went into a adult video store and the owner got mad and ripped his shirt off as he was running out

so we talk with him a while longer and then a cop car comes screaming down the street and he tells me and the stoner to get into the car

so we had to wait in the back of the car for like two hours while they get it sorted out

pretty dumb

Been in a cop car twice. most recently when I was filling out an accident report when someone side-swiped my 18 day-old 2001 Cherokee.

the other was being driven back to my car because it had broken down on the highway. I was walking to a phone...in -35 deg weather. Long before cell phones. The cop happened by radioed for a tow truck.

I'm a good boy.

yeah, some cops are dicks but most of us just really enjoy being dicks to smartass kids (not implying you're a kid...you're story just reminded me of lots of other stories ;) )

my claim to fame is that when i catch kids being stupid on a friday or saturday night (my city is the regional mecca for "cruisers" on fri/sat  ), i make them river dance on main st in front of all the passing cars. my best "river dance line" was last month with 8 kids i caught trespassing. so there they were, on main st, in front of the well-lit McD's with arms locked just jigging away   most of them are glad to do it in place of a ticket. i only use it for stupid stuff like trespassing, loud music, smarting off to adults...i save the back seat of my car for more serious offenders that had bad intentions in the first place.

i love the usual first reaction...it goes something like this.

me: I suppose those no tresspassing signs are for somebody else, right?

kid: uh...oh...uh....i didn't know i was trespassing

me: hmm, so you don't read much huh? (large red/white "no trespassing sign above his head on the wall)
kid: no..ha ha
me: do you like to dance?
kid: uh...whadda ya mean...uh...like at a club?
me: no...like riverdance...you know. redheaded people all locking arms and hopping up and down making their feet move real fast?
kid: uh...no, not really
me: well, you do tonight because it's either riverdance in front of your friends or get a ticket..your choice
kid: how do i....
my partner: oh..he'll demonstrate (pointing to me - i do a quick demo)
kid: um...ok, how long do i have to dance?
me: until i feel you've gotten good at it

*kid begins to dance as i stand alongside staring with arms folded.

i'm surprised i haven't been complained on yet for that :oink:

a little over a year ago, i was sleeping in my apartment when i was woken by some strange yelling. I roll over to see flashlights and the glint of pistols in my face. It was a very large posse of police who were there 'looking for burglars'. their story was my downstairs neighbor had heard noises that sounded like footsteps outside and they thought there was a prowler. The cops let themselves into my place because my window was open. Needless to say they would have just left after checking my i.d. but they looked in my closet and found something that wasnt supposed to be there. They took off, came back with a warrant, and arrested me. I was put into the car and as the cop put it in gear, his dash clock showed 4:20 am. I thought it was some sort of sick joke.

i didn't get put in a cop car to the best of my memory, but the fbi did come looking after me once:

read the tale here as originally posted, or just look below

old content below:

i got the DoJ response today [to my FOIA request about me being investigated as a possible abducted child], and they say "A search of the automated indices to the central records system files at FBI Headquarters located no records responsive to your FOIPA request." that's good i guess, even tho i am slightly disappointed. i am pretty sure that my memories of the cooperstown incident are sound since my parents have talked about it too... go figure.
ok, i asked my mother about this, and she confirms my hazy memories of the night, more or less. so i didn't imagine it, yay :D
my mother said:
around 1986 toshi handa clark (6 years old) in california was
kidnapped by one of his parents after the parents divorced. *his
blurry "missing person" mugshot picture appeared on the side of
kornflake boxes. *the picture was so small and blurry it could have
been any chubby dark haired six years old.

the local cooperstown [ny] swimming teacher and her busybody friends
reported to the fbi that there is a "toshi clark" who just moved into
the town. *[...]*it is especially
amazing, because the swimming teacher (the weirs) and the her busybody
friends were at our house with their children and saw your picture
albums which showed the whole family together from before you were
born until that very day.

anyway four (?) or so fbi agents (from the closest utica? branch) came
knocking on the door one late night just to check if you were the
missing kid. *they knew that dad was at the hospital that night on
call and they even had a copy of your birth certificate. *a woman
agent was there, too, ready to 'mother' the kid on the way out of the
"kidnappers' den". *towards the beginning of the visit, one agent was
posted by the back window of the duplex apartment, i guess, just to
make sure that we won't take flight.

well, they naturally wanted to see you. so i gently picked you up from
your sleep and softly suggested that you let them take your
fingerprints. *(. . . the best quickest way to prove your identity and
clear this ridiculous claim against us.)

you were half asleep, but lo and behold, you curled up your hands and
would not let them touch you. *we offered chocolate pudding and other
goodies for a reward to submit, but with no avail. *you could not be
persuaded. *i must credit the senior fbi agent of that group for not
forcing anything upon you against your will at that moment. *he
decided that the accompanying fingerprint specialist can visually
check your thumb and compare it with that of t. handa clark and he
also noted that you lacked the injury mark on the forehead which was
supposed to be prominent on t. handa clark. *they were satisfied that
you are, after all, [my full name] and not the
kidnapped fellow in question and left peacefully.

what is mind-boggling is that they knew your full name from the birth
certificate before they visited us and also knew dad's identity and
even where he was that very night and still questioned our innocence.
it was like my words against the accusing words of those busybodies. .
. or rather, their words were given as much weight as my own words
about my own children and family. *i shiver to think that if my
english was not clear enough the agents could have easily ignored my
rightful authentic claim of facts about you and our family and they
could have taken you away on the basis of the spurious irresponsible
thrill-seeking busybodies. . . (of course, the finger prints would
have disproved the accusation quickly, but only after unpleasant
forceful collection of the prints.)

anyway, perhaps that experience strengthens my concerns for the
erosion of civil rights in patriots act and guantanamo principle.

i guess we live and learn and thank goodness our brush with such
absurdity is only limited to that small incident. . . (that is) . .
.so far!

No one ever said this was about being arrested.

I've never been arrested, but I've been detained once or twice. Most recently, the fine officers on duty that night thought I fit the description of someone breaking into cars on a bicycle. Needless to say, I was not their man, however I didn't have reflectors or lights on my cycle. They drove me home :(.

Well OK. When I was 15 a friend of mine stole a Oldsmobile station wagon (he was 16 and it was his neighbors car). Well anyways we just drove it around and were going to park it down the street from his house like we always did. But for some reason he decided to pull into a gas station to fast and we hit a light pole. Well when to make a long story short when I woke up the cops had me by the scruff and were dragging me out of the car as I hit my head on the dashboard and got kinda knocked out/dazed. The cop who cuffed me was my hockey teams assistant coach and he drove me home instead of taking me to the station. I had to paint his mothers garage for him to keep it a secret.

Was bouncing around a mosh pit at some black sabbath cover band when all of a sudden a couple of MP's take me down for no ****ing reason. I swear to god, I was one of 50 people there, but i got singled out and taken down.
Guy kneels in the middle of my back and cuffs me as the other guy puts a thing of pepper spray in my face and threatens to **** me up with it. Two more MPs come and grab my legs, as the original two grabbed my arms. They carried me out of the concert through a crowd of people face down, cuffed, by my arms and legs. Not a good day.
Got tossed in the brig, got brethalized and found not to be intoxicated, and then let go.

never been in the back of a cop car. but tonight after the fireworks when some friends and i were in a cvs parking lot trying to figure out if we wanted to go to someones house to chill or to go out and get food a cop rolled by. what he said to us was quite interesting and i quote, "you guys have got to leave because the cvs people called us and told us that you were causing a ruckus outside and i dont like having to deal with ruckuses so end this ruckus before i start a ruckus with you and arrest someone on this ruckus of a night." we just left since we knew that we would eventually get kicked out.

Nice! That was quite decent of him. Shows a nice sense of perspective and application of force. Sort of like parking the car on the overpass and getting lots of folks to slow down, instead of stopping one car as thousands blow on by.

Last time was in 2002. I paid a ticket many years earlier and the clerk who entered my payment made a mistake. About 5 years later I get pulled over for expired tags. (We all get busy and forget to send in the reg at least once). Cop asks me to step out of the car... (That's NEVER good)

I ended up spending 9 days in Los Angeles and Orange County jails on a frikkin CLERICAL ERROR. To top it off it was a NO BAIL hold warrant, which meant that I didn't get to see a lawyer, or get bailed out till I saw the judge... 9 days later. It was a 10,000 dollar bail! (Remember, this is for a misdemeanor TICKET. Not a felony crime.) So 1000.00 dollars later I am out and looking for a lawyer. He charges me 1000.00 to get everything straightened out. I go in and see the judge and he tells me that they made a mistake and the warrant should have never been issued, case dismissed. No apology, no compensation... NOTHING. I'm out 2000.00 dollars, 7 days of my vacation time at work, and I had to sit in hell with the dregs of society for 9 frikkin days. Gotta love Orange County and it's high tech system.

The moral of the story is: ALWAYS pay your tickets in person, and get a reciept. NEVER mail in your ticket payment.

The only thing through the whole experience that didn't suck was the cop that arrested me. Totally cool. He didn't treat me like a criminal, and even ran my name through the computer more than once to make sure there wasn't a mistake. He said he had seen this before, and not to worry. After being booked and sitting in the cell he stopped by on his way out to see how I was doing. A really nice guy.

About 10 years ago, when we were in school.....hell 15 years ago! My buddies George and Len were over at George's parents' house. They were playing darts or something. (Not really important to the story). So it's getting late and George goes to drive Len home. On the way, they notice a street sign on the ground. It's actually two street name signs (90 degrees to each other), that should be atop a stop sign. They look at each other, shrug, get out grab the signs, toss it in the back seat of George's dad's car, and off they go.

They get about 50 yards when they are pulled over by TWO cop cars. Now this is in a pretty quiet suburban neighbourhood. So George and Len by this time are pretty nervous. You have to realize that these are two 19-year-old engineering students. George was his high school valedictorian, and subsequently our university class valedictorian. It's doesn't get any squeaky-cleaner than George.

Cut to the chase, the cops tell them to get out of the car, bend them over the hood, and cuff the two of them. They are raced to the cop shop, and booked. Mug shots, fingerprints, took the shoe laces, the drawcord from George's sweat pants. Whole 9 yards. The 4am call: "Uh dad....I'm in jail"

They end up appearing in court. The judge agreed that the punishment (as future professionals), of having criminal records would FAR exceed the crime. SO he told them to make donations to the Children's hospital and he threw it out and the records were completely destroyed.

A lot of broo-ha-ha caused by some CLEARLY bored cops.

I never tire of telling the story though....

One time me and several friends, when I say several I really mean almost half of the grade, were in a public park after sundown playing beruit. When 2 cop cars roll up without sirens on. 4 cops walk over to us, and they ask us which ones were the designated drivers. So maybe 8 people finally find their balls on the floor and talk to the cops. Those 8 people got breathalyzed, and sober drivers were organized. Now all of the people who were there, every last one, had their name and number taken down. After the cops made us empty all the beer, he made the DD's take everyone home and what not.

No one recieved any calls that night.

well, the last timet that i was hooked and put in the back of a copp car, was at the end of the night, i believe it was two st. patricks days ago... it seemed that everyone wanted to get into a fight. This little gang banger type from the valley(phoenix) was running out on his bar tab and i was trying to be a good citizen:love: and i stopped him. well, his other gang banger friends didn't like it so myself and two friends got into a little bar fight with these punks.. turns out, witnesses say that i started a fight with him and so i got detained. they let me go about two hours later. the time before that i was in tijana, Mex. and got caught peeing behind a dumpster and acting a little beligerant! i ended up staying two days in the T.J. jail! man, that sucked!
