Gotta cook? This bbq plate is made out of an old plough disc and some long bolts that screw into nuts welded onto the bottom of the disc.

Landcruisers at sunset.

Toilet paper?

i dunno bring what you think you need.

You need a fire, a good tip is bringing drier lint for starter. As well as a small axe and saw for acquiring wood.

Another life saver can be a tarp and bungee ties to set up for windy wet conditions. Don't use rope since the tarp will tear apart.

You really don't need too much, but using common sense in your preperation will go the longest way in having fun.

God, I hate, hate, hate camping in the sand. Sand in your tent, sand in your food, water, teeth, underpants, vagina. That stuff gets everywhere.

Cool idea about the plow disc though...

If you're camping for an extended period, I like taking an extra tent to use as a closet, keep clothes and other items, that way your sleeping tent stays uncluttered.

BEER

No doubt. I started scanning the thread and quickly realized that no one mentioned beer. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
"It probably goes without saying, but an excess of canned beer..."

It looks like I'm on more than one ignore list!

I ignored the CANNED part.

**shudder**
Hahaha...I know what you mean. Camping is the only time I EVER drink canned beer anymore, and then only because I can crush the container afterwards and make it compact in the trash bag. It is also easier to fit larger quantities into a cooler and if you go hiking/biking with a couple in the camelback, they fit better and are safer for when I go OTB on unfamiliar trails.

Ready to shudder again? I usually drink BEAST ICE while camping, partly in a reminiscent tip o' my cap to days of yore and partly because I can pound them and their ~6%ABV. I have been known to throw a few Guinness Pub Draughts in the cooler, as well, to get things started right.
