I've said it before and I'll keep saying it.
The Democrats are too internally weak to expand it.
As soon as the Republicans get in they will expand it and pack in even more ultra hard right judges.

Yes

Each justice essentially oversees appeals from those circuits.

The Democrats are too internally weak to expand it.

They don't actually want to accomplish anything. It's too lucrative for fundraising to maintain a cause they can scare people over. We're watching them do it right now over roe v. wade even though they've had ample opportunity to enshrine the right in law the last 14 years.
