A friend builds these little guys for Carnegie Mellon's team. They have a similar wheel setup, but the rollers aren't arranged helically, just perpendicular.
Its actually a very cool innovation, the biggest thing that is holding it back is that is is available as electric only. Most large wherehouses that could really benefit from that are big enough that electric just wouldnt cut it, they really need to make a propane version and that bad boy will really take off. I remember seeing a video for that years ago while I was in school, looks alot better now, and they have come a long ways since the original. I hope to see this tecnology advance, it really would make for a safer situation in the wherehouse industry
