the redbull air races. pretty much the coolest thing to come to san diego ever. they are launching the planes off the midway, a decommisioned aircraft carrier turned museum.

they are pulling nearly 10 gs at 300 mph 50 ft off the water. its an amazing thing to watch. its like a slalom with airplanes. http://www.redbullairrace.com/

lucky...i've been watching it on tv whenever it's on...the one in utah was the coolest one...it was kinda scary though, one of the pilots skimmed the ground after passing out because he pulled too many g's

I have been following that stuff on and off for a few years in other countries, and always thought it was illegal in this country. I started seeing commercials for it, and was shocked when they said San Diego!

Neat little tidbit, the plane used by the leader at the moment is built in Guthrie, Oklahoma. It's called the Zivko Edge 540.

yeah its over. i saw it friday. sooo cool. last weekend it was the thunderboats and this weekend its this. i love redbull
