glad you liked it-it's a bit janky until you know your way around. Let me know if you go back and I'll tell you about the pirate trails on the mountain! :brows:

Working...about to go drop off some supplies for folks in the hills. Planning to saw/ride tomorrow afternoon. Weather is top notch right now. Even @SkaredShtles would like it here!
I did hit some pirate shit off piste.

Got some trees I need to climb soon due to massive widow makers from previous falling ops.

My new tree climbing/Arborist kit inventory is back up to the professional full-time contractor level, too bad my fitness is not. Most climbers are less than half my age.

Shot line with 3 bean bags (different weights for different heights)
10' slingshot and pole
Shot line folding cube bag
2 amsteel haul ropes @ 180'
3 rope bags
1 3-ton power puller
1 climbing rope @200'
4 prusiks
several ascenders/descender devices
1 set of climbing spurs
1 hybrid harness seat
2 steel core limb over lanyards with rope grabs
12 quick slings with Speedline pulleys
2 Stihl top handle battery saws
2 Saw lanyards
1 saw hook
2 friction savers with rings
1 pull saw

Considering modern man lifts will not work on anything but flat level ground, the cost of climbing equipment was not only cheaper than a lift or bucket rental but the only option for my trees due to slope, location and size.

Carbide saw chains arrived just now, off to the mailbox and on to cutting down massive stumps so they will fit in dump truck boxes, yay!

Wife signed me up for a new gym a month ago, so I've been hitting the weights thrice a week after neglecting strength training for the better part of 10 years. I am already getting stronger after four weeks. Still weak as hell though. I used to lift weights a lot before I started running, and at my peak could bench press 225 lbs. Right now I can bench 95 lbs but trending upwards.
I bench press around 3:45 and I’m out of the gym by 4…..

would Medieval man lifts work instead
I think the equivalent would have been a trebuchet, so yes, but slightly painful, I would surmise

That's pretty Gucci stuff right there. I used Power Ascenders a couple of times, but they are primarily used for really tall deciduous trees in residential settings that get damaged using spurs.

His original models were rather inexpensive and could be powered by a cordless drill. He was targeting arborists but came to the realization most of them were just meth-heads with chainsaws who weren't going to spend money on anything short of more meth so he fancied it up to target a larger spectrum of professionals like SAR.

Track time today. Haley got in a few sessions, including one doing lead and follow with Greg.

I got to drive the rentals, which I haven't done in a while. I was .5sec off the fastest in our group and when we all got out, they were easily 50-75#+ lighter than me. Given 5# is ~.1sec... I sure hope that the endurance race is somewhat weighted equally.

One of the track owners offered $100 for whomever got the fastest rental session as we were getting ready to leave. Haley jumped in really fast and ended up winning the group by about .6sec. It was far too low for the amount of seat time she has, so next time she needs to do better.

Hannah's parent-teacher conference was today. She's being suggested for GTE (gifted and talented) math and writing. She's struggling with testing, but largely because her ADHD has her getting bored during the test, but everything else and she's miles ahead of her class. I also got a call about her full body foot stomping a classmate. So... We're working on the emotional control. I don't think that we're far from her getting a 504 plan so that we can get more flexibility with her testing, usage of fidgets, and support from the counselor around social behavior.
