I work with a dude that constantly tells me how hot his wife is and how much he likes to screw her. He is very metro and is a former priest. Something tells me he has a big secret.
This gives me the creeps. Don't be alone with that guy without someone knowing where you are.

It is acceptable to call objects oriental but not people.

We tell folks that call Willow oriental that she is Chinese. I've been told by a number of Chinese and Vietnamese folks that they find being called oriental offensive. That's enough for me to not use it.
Ha, old people love to say Oriental.
That is about the only I know who still use that phrase.
I think they do not like because it lumps all of them together,
just because they look similar.

But then again, I prefer the word Honkey for all my people.
So what do I know. How can a word that funny be offensive.

How do they feel about being called "folks"?
Folks are good.

Think of this way: would you call a black person, colored?

BTW, the term Oriental harks back to coolie days.

BTW, I respect the foto choice. If you hadn't mention the context, I would just think two cute girls at the mall.

Its good to take a stand, racism sucks, however I can see your boss's point of view. After all their in business to make MONEY
right? and telling your racist client where to get off does not increase the bottom line.

So if it makes you feel uncomfortable being in that enviroment, than move on. Me personally I don't let other peoples shortcomings affect me I have my OWN shortcomings to deal with...

I wouldn't worry about it. Westy is too old for him. By about 20 years.

A friend of mine (who's black) loves to say to me: "What's up, my cracker?"

I leave it at that.
Privately, I don't use terms like African-American, Chinese-American or Caucasian. Publicly, I do.
