I had a full beard for 10+ years. My wife and I were together for 6 years before I shaved it off. I didn't tell her I was doing it. I just went to take a shower after a ride and decided to shave it off. I just walked in the room and sat down on the couch and didn't say a word. She looked over at me as she started to ask me about something and freaked out. She had never seen my bare face. It took her a while to get used to it. She kept saying that she felt like she was cheating on me. It was hilarious.
