I declare that today is the start of training for the SSWC 08, which will be held in Napa.

My goals to race successfully: lose weight and ride single speeds.

What's this "training" of which you speak? Just ride your singlespeed, the rest follows naturally.

To be frank, without a specific goal, I have little motivation to the difficult parts about training.

I know my declaration is really silly, especially when I can show up to SSWC without even riding and have a great time. But I am glad I announced my attentions.

Anyone who makes fun of me is a poohead.

Practice running in your bike shoes too. The Le Mans start at WC05 was unexpected and painful. I'd also advise you pre-ride the course on any day other than the day before the race. :imstupid:

Well, that is the other reason why I am motivated to race: the assumption for course selection is Napa Skyline Park, one of the most technical courses around here.

I assume also that many SF fixie fags will be riding, and I hope to see firsthand the carnage.

I declare that I will dress up like a ninja and totally Cinzano your ass on the first lap!

Or not, but I will get my SS running before then, and also consume copious amounts of beeeer.

Well, since my original declaration, I have been dieting steadily and I have keeping up on my miles.

Yesterday, I registered at 11am, 10 hours and 59 minutes after my friend Bevis got his registration in.

But I did notice that registration is now closed, so possibly I do have a chance of getting into the race.

Lake Sonoma. Goat says it's a good one for SS.

I guess this thread is officially dead. Unless someone wants to share with us how they got into the SSWC08! I demand a recount! :monkey:
