Has anyone tried a Woodie with a Trek 88?
I might have a chance to get it cheap and replace RC4 but I can't find any reviews or comments. I've got the latest 2011 frame but I don't think it really matters.
Thanks!
Thing is, it's not even a second but a third hand with unknown history. I guess I'll pass this time and get a proper valved Woodie. Seems like it's better to spend a little more to get much more.
buy that thing cheap, send it to avalanche, have him rebuild it with a fresh valve+seals+oil for you, and shred it for basically ever. it will be good as new once it comes to you...

You can't go wrong as long as the price is decent (aka: you save money buying it used even after the cost of a rebuild/revalve). It's a fully custom setup shock, so as long as you're honest with your description of your own riding, it'll come back tailored to you.
