FTS-o-meter seems to be broken.

At the day job we have a couple of instruments at a customer location that are whack-a-mole serial trouble makers. Fix one bug, fly home, get a call two days later about a new bug. This has been going on for years.

Every 3 or 4 months I’ll roll my boulder that is this problem up the mountain to management. Today was that day. I got two separate management responses: 1) how come you haven’t made us aware of this earlier? and 2) so what do you want me to do about it?

I do not plan to roll this particular boulder up the mountain anymore.

heated steering wheel is so clutch, literally

I'll see myself out

(both our cars have it. has been on the list of near-requirements since our ol' Leaf had it back in 2013.)

I've been told heated steering wheel is pretty awesome. I assume my next vehicle will have one, as I want it to be an electric vehicle, and pre-conditioning the car while still plugged into the house will be key to extending battery range in the cold.

but I still can't help but feel there's nothing wrong with driving with gloves on. even with an ancient transmission like mine that requires a pedal and a gear selection lever for each change. I think heated steering wheels are there mostly to make it easier to use your screen while driving. caus' for sure trying to fuck with your phone with gloves on, or worse pulling gloves on and off to fuck with your phone is a pain in the arse...

preconditioning the car when it's on battery power is also awesome even if it takes off a mile or two of range.

because then it's immediately nice and cozy. I've got my alarm set to turn mine on about 5 minutes before I step out the door this afternoon at the end of my shift

Yes. Looking into staying inland with the likes of Fernie, Rossland, Castlegard, and maybe Revelstoke and Golden. No coast.
Revelstoke was nice on the eyes. Hit up Martha Creek if you can get someone to shuttle....or you feel like 6thelement and want to do the 5000 foot climb :D

Might also recommend Moose Mountain in Alberta...trails are wicked. Climb is wicked too...

Well, sure, if you have heated gloves. (I like how tiny they made the price, lol)

There is some cool hiking at the top of Martha Creek too.

It's just outside of Revelstoke National Park, but I think it's just wilderness of provincial land, so no dog rules or anything like that.

The Forest road to the top was very long, but there was a van parked at the top. Would be a kick-ass spot to camp up there.

This is from the top parking/clearing area

Nice spot to jump in the (rocky) lake at the campground across the street from the trail exit too.

Nice! Those are the kind of camping spot we crave. So far looking at many networks, seems like it would be easy to free camp.

I noticed a brown haze had settled in almost every day in Saltillo. In the morning one could see the dust spewing out of what looked like a quarry. Crap gets trapped in the valley?
Don't know about Saltillo but here in Juarez we are surrounded by desert so when it gets windy we get a lot of dust and the occasional sand storm.
