....thinking back to that time when we rode from Turkey Pen up to Laurel, down Pilot Rock and then out to highway 276 and all the way back to Brevard (in the dark). And got pulled over by the Sheriff at Pisgah Ranger Station...

Hygenist gave me a sample of that biotene stuff. Tried it, didn't really help. Will continue to try it till the sample runs out.

It sounds crazy, but it's the difference in archery hunting that can be what means a successful hunt vs just walking around with your bow. When I started archery, I was lucky to get within 30 yards of an animal, once I tried all these goodies...... I can set up five feet from a game trail, and have them come within five feet...

I don't believe it does..... I mean none of this will guarantee a harvest. You still have to know when and where they will be, you still have long hours of spot and stalk... For as scent free and invisible as you can be you still have to have the skill and patience to make it happen.

Biotene is grosssss. Slimy and weird tasting.

Subbing has been fun the last couple weeks. Happy to be in the school and feeling appreciated. Makes it hard when the other industry has a jerb for me all lined up. So torn....

I'm gonna agree. My dad hunts and does a lot of this stuff. Not really much different than what we do for our bikes, little gains here and there sure, but at the end of the day the deer doesn't come up to you and say "ok you win let's get this over with" just like our bikes don't ride themselves.

no really, I mean it. other peoples kids. and if they're not, then wait a few months, and they're no longer your problem.

oh, and I had a great ride tonight. felt better than i have in months. had fun, had beers, had pulled pork with good friends. it was awesome.

Yes. It only took a couple days back in the school to remember this. Sticking with it, and making a long term plan now. Masters in Education, classroom for a couple years, and intending to go the principal path. That seems to be the direction to go if I want to get to know all the kids in the school and not be in one place all the time. It’s also years out, so I have time to see how I like other options along the way. Just have to figure out the masters program first!!
