Maintenance history:
After Euro pro season: new chains, shifter cables, rohloff oil change, wax polish. didn't need any of these but you do whatever you can for a WChamps.
After spring racing, NZ nats icl 2 wins in elite, and oceania cont' champs, sadly did get to give her attention myself after worlds 06 but got Dr Bike in Christchurch to replace mainpivot bearings [again just to be sure] and a rohloff mounting plate that had been run with its bolts loose leaving non ideal threads, before Oceanias and shipping to Punter.

I've been out to Wales for two days solid DH. did 18 runs, no prob she loved
it. I'm gonna use a 450 spring. I had a 400 in all weekend and it was mint,
but just a bit too much sag, with a 450 and good pre load it will be factory
as. I getting a ti spring this week.
she definitely has geometry for steep fast tracks, just absolutely flat tap
pinned confidence on the loose wide open stuff, full controlled two wheel
drifts on loose shingle. The off camber traction is out of it too, improved
on the M8 i think cause the slacker HA makes more confidence to leave
it pinned’n straight line more. i followed a guy on a giant maestro over a hot
line off-camber tree rooted section and he drifted down onto the main line
and i just pinned it straight on letting the rear say cheers cuuuuuuuu!
she’s a ripper.

yo, first two races down.
Scottish Nats
bike rules. the first track was gay - really tight at the top, then really
flat and pedally at the bottom. I spent most the practice day getting some
sort of rhythm but didn’t expect to be fast. My second run was about 13th/20
odd. 6sec off 1st.I wasn’t to down beat. first weekend back and still had some
pace.
[note, Aaron: Punters first use of anything with pedals or any fitness training other than two weeks in jan 06 since july 04.]
British Nats
This track smoked. Loose, off camber steep then fast, a bit flat at the
bottom but as well. Seedin was ok, was 20th out of 39, i cruised it and
didn’t go real hard, good news is only 6 sec of something off Steve Peat. the
racin is just so ****in tight here. race run i hit two trees with shoulder
hard, did the ol duck walk behind the bike and hoped back on, came to near
stop. so didn’t go well, but still only 11sec over 3min off Peat. I lost
6sec. so my pace is there, the bike is ****en awesome. the 400 was really
good for a lot of the track, but the 450 would def be better over a whole
track. I've got a ti 450 on order. the bike is ****en rad.
The Scottish guy who bought one of Stephen is not bad, he podiumed in expert
which is mint.
here some pic, like the 02 lahar top. its lasted as long as the M8's
