Infusing the self-righteous pomp of Dirtrag (without the substance) with neo-hipster culture and appealing to those who can barely ride a bike, Urban Velo is one former editors attempt to be counted amongst the "cool kids" with their extreme messenger bags (an ad in the 'zine, I **** you not), cycling caps, and fixies.
As soon as fixies are no longer in, this stupid eZine will crumble like a sandcastle in the tide.
It's fairly meaty for a new rag and seems to have many advertisers following him. I'm just glad he's left Dirt Rag as art director, so maybe I can muster the courage to open that pub again without dry heaving.
Sure it's a niche mag, but cool tips like this can be used by all.
Track bikes belong on tracks, white belts and foam front trucker hats belong on the shelf in the Goodwill store next to the Fleetwood Mac 8 track tapes.
