Just wanting to know about the US 05 Sunday Teams and Boxxer team forks on them,
Were they made in the US or in Taiwan
like the Australian 05 Sunday Teams and Boxxer team forks were ?

Seeing the US got there Sundays after Australia got theres
Did the US 05 Sundays have as many problems with them
as the ones supplied to Australia
incorrect bearings
incorrect shock tune
incorrect linkage plates
incorrect shock mounting hardware

you need a "jungle Iron Hose Sunday Questions" thread ;)

Sunday WC, Elite and Team are all made in Taiwan.
Sunday Factory Framekit is made in the US.

Don't know what you mean by "Australian 05 Sunday" - all Sunday's come from either Taiwan or the US - then are shipped to AU. AU typically gets the first batches of new bikes as their summer is our winter (e.g. peak of their bike sales)

All problems have been addressed - only a handful of bikes were shipped to AU with incorrect bearings.

Acadian,

You are probably right
I just have so many questions to ask about them
I think i'm a bit obsessed with them at the moment
as i'm just about to buy a 05 Sunday Team

With Australian 05 sundays, i meant the ones supplied
to Australia as i realize they were made in Taiwan

i can get a near mint condition only 6 runs or so old
completely stock 19" 05 Sunday team (Australia issue)
or
a fairly used 17" 05 Sunday Team (US issue)
which a Team rider from the US
who visited here just before Christmas.
and left his sunday behind to sell here
as it would cost him too much
to fly it back to the US and he was getting a brand new 06 Factory Sunday when he got back to the US

So, i'm in a bind as i can't decide which one to get ?
as i can't afford a 06 Sunday at the moment

I heard that the NZ ones weren't up to scratch either.

I didn't know that they replaced whole frames for 06 ones
as the fix up for the stuffed 05 ones.

That's not good at all !

Hope the 06 ones are better

some US ones came with
wrong shock tune
wrong shock mounts

however both issues were taken care of easily by good cs

If the Sunday for the US was from a Team rider you can be pretty certain that it has any fix that you could ever need on it already, and from my experience the 17" fits alot of people better, theres nothing worse than getting a new bike that needs a ton of work.

thats why i got mine in the winter, plenty of time to get everything setup and broken in, completely ready for the season

NateH,
Good point, thanks
yeah , i guess i'm torn between the mint condition OZ 19"
and the well used US 17",
but i'd say the US 17" has had all the bugs ironed out on it
plus a few team upgrades, like upgraded brakes, rims and cranks
and well tuned boxxers and 5th element
even though they are well used, they feel heaps nicer

while the stock standard OZ 19" may or may not have all the bugs sorted yet, even though it looks in mint showroom condition

You really should decide what Size frame you need first and then get the best deal on that Size...

I guess frame size probably is more important
than condition of the bike

both are very important factors but you really want the bike to fit, how tall are you

Yep, a lot more important. The nicest, newest frame around won't ride as well for you as a used frame that fits!

thanks for your help
i guess i'm a bit blinded by the condition
of the 19" compared to that of the 17"

i'm 5'11" tall

cheers

If you can get the receipt from the bigger one, go for that one. I've found a warranty is always a good thing to have, especially if a bike has been beat on pretty hard. Otherwise, the 17" sounds like a good deal, as it should be waaay cheaper and will fit you a little better.

No warranty on either of them
maybe a month left on the 19"

both will have 12 months free servicing
which i like to do myself anyway

both are secondhand
the 19" has had very little use
the owner got it to race in 2005 but never did
and
the 17" alot of use racing in the US & OZ

well at 5'11" you pretty much at the fulcrum of which size you can ride, if you like a big bike the 19" would be fine, or if you like a more traditional fit or slightly smaller bike the 17" would be fine, but then again i'm 6'3 to 6'4 and i ride a 17" so it all depends

I am 5' 11" and went with the 19" at this height it also involves bike preference, long vs shorter bikes?
