I haven't gotten any response in the shop, so I figured I'd try here. Because I can't seem to get a hold of the right spring rate in the stroke I need, I was wondering if if would be doable to put a 3.5" spring on a 3.0" stroke shock? Specifically a Vivid. It seems like an extra half inch wouldn't make a difference, but I don't want to mess up my shock body because of unnecessary rubbing. Any thoughts?

ofc You can , but You have to check first if it will fit (3,5" springs are 190-200mm~ long)

As long as it fits on the shock body, you'll be good. Only shorter springs cause issues.

other than adding weight, there's nothing wrong with that...kinda scary your shop could'nt give you a quick answer to this one.
