I just put a new Minion DHF 2.5 on my mavic ex 823 and have, i think, a problem. The tire seems too have little hop in it. I even took it off and reinstalled it. It is perfectly sealed; no leaks. Back in my rigid BMX days, this would have been unacceptable. Is this common and/or a defect? Should I care about this on an 8+ inch travel downhill machine?

depends on how much of a hop your talking about. lil ones arent a big deal. but you should put tons of air in it first to help seat the bead. then ride it around for a lil while and see if it comes out
Put in air until it pops out. This is why some people use soapy water.
okay i just got my 823 and i have a set of minion 2.5's so they should work on the rims with no tubes right. i know its a dumb question but im totally new to this whole tubless thing and i was wondering.
and for the hopes if i experiance this just put more psi in it so that it sets on the bead better. okay i know these are dumb questions but help would be nice thanks.
