i own a high pivot enduro bike with an steel idler which is kinda noisy when pedaling up.

has anyone tried if going from a lubed chain to an imersely waxed one would make it any less noisy?

Hmmm, interesting question.

All I can think is that it may not do much for the noise, but at least it'll extend the lifespan of the chain and drivetrain at least.

So it's definitely worth doing at least.

Are you using a clutch derailiuer? As that's my next thought, due to the fact that it reduces chain slap.

yes i have a GX axs derauiler.


The noise is a problem pedaling up.

Downhill i have other things to worry about
