Warner was just getting confused. If we take Gwin's top split as an example, we were told he was 0.81 up. Which he was, 0.81 quicker than the current hot-seat (Greg) to that point.Seb I think you're right. Warner needs to put his **** together and do some homework.
Warner was looking at the UCI live timing feed at the same time, which would have shown that Gwin was 3rd-fastest at the top split. Which he was, behind Gee and some random French guy, Bigoni.
These two things are not mutually exclusive - both bits of information were right, Warner got confused in the heat of the moment. A shame, as it detracted from the experience watching it - he plays Aaron's 5.5 sec lead down (although it was correct). I'd much rather he'd have been going "OH MY GOD! LOOK AT THE TIMMMEEEEEE!!"
