You went to CIA, for real ? My cooking friend was a CIA grad, amazing cook. Used to work for Julia Child among others.

Yes, Took a bunch of courses over a few years, (I had a catering company for a little bit after the bike shop). I was never fully enrolled, though. Learned a shitload about washing dishes :happydance:
But yeah, I was able to do complete events for about 150 max.

I guess the thread title is accurate about the ‘to serve’ part!
I realized fairly quickly that between that and trail digging nearly full time as well, I basically didn’t even ride a bike anymore, my back and knees were shot from hauling catering gear, and my elbows and hands were wrecked from repetitive motion injuries from trail-building.
The catering money was actually really, really good, but the stress and hours were unbearable.
