i know that there is a formula that is supposed to equal 55. it involves wheel size and the sprokets. anybody know it?

sprocket size divided by cog size multiplied by wheel size

example:
30T sprocket
13T cog
24 in wheels

30/13*24=55.38

34/16 on my 26" feels great. it is strong enough of a gear to pedal all over town, but it is easy enough to ride some cross country trails too.

and it's right about 55, the classic bmx gear for 20"s.

34/16 = 2.125 * 26 = 55.25
