I'm looking for a decent quality truing stand. I know the Park ones are the best but i don't like the fact that you need to mount it in a vice (which i don't have). I found a Sunlite stand on Ebay for around 60 bucks. Anyone have any experience with them? I like the fact that it will sit on top of a bench or a table. Any help would be appreciated.

The Park ones don't have to mount in a vice, you just need to buy a base if you don't have a vice to mount it it.

Never used a Sunlite, no idea if they're any good.

When I was a shop mechanic we had two bolted to a work bench and another bolted to a peice of plywood. 1/2 inch I think and about 12 X 12 inches. I have the shop quality Park at home bolted directly to one of my two work benches. Every now and then though I bump my head on it so I may one day make a plywood base for it so I can store it out of the way.

I would recommend you the Park Tool TS2, I have one at home and one in the shop.

They both have the plastic base, really nice piece of kit!
