This video is straight forward. It's all in order from top to bottom and does include Mark Webbs footage and still pictures. It shows every inch of the Windmill trail so it makes for a long video. I have two links for the higher quality version and one link for the lower quality.

Right click and save as for any link.

\/Full version low quality\/ (but not that bad)

this is just one of many many trails we've been building up here for the past seven years.
this is the longest run we have.
most others are about half this ones run time, but they're steeper and much rockier.

i wish matt lived much closer so he could work his video skills on all the rest of em.

we're too lazy to do the vid work like he's done.

can't wait for the trees to leaf out "tunnel in" everything.
it's get real dark in there. so this was a good time of year to do this.

thanks.

That place looks really awesome. What's the deal on shuttling - is it just every guy/group for himself, or is there a pay-per-ride service offered?

Can't wait to visit there sometime soon!

like loo said, self shuttle for the most part.

we're not a very big group up here by any means.
in fact most of the time there's just three or four of us that have this whole place to ourselves.
(some trails go for weeks and weeks without being ridden.)

we have a small rotating system of local trucks to shuttle with.
and it's usually pre-arranged.
if there's room, we'll always squeeze in whoever we can.
but we don't have the financial resources to offer a shuttle service.
(maybe one day.)

this is basically a grass roots trail system, funded out of my pocket.
trailbuilding and maintanence come first.

VERY, VERY impressive, man. As I understand it, that's mostly state land set aside for ATV use, correct?

Whatever the case may be, keep up the good work!! I'm supposed to take some customers down to a game at UT sometime this fall, and weather permitting, I'll be packing my bike and flying in a day or two early. :)

actually, it's all private property.
all 72,000 acres.

it's old strip mined land, and is still owned by coal creek mining co.
they have a contract with the windrock a.t.v. club to manage the o.h.v. trails.
i operate under their contract.

basically seven years ago, asked about building downhill trails up here.
they gave it their ok.
i answer to no one and am given pretty much free reign to build as i please.
all i asked for was steep land and to be left alone.

they've given me all that and more.
i couldn't be happier with my situation up here.
and i've just barely scatched the surface of all the terrain at my disposal.

John

You can see the answers on Shuttling above that it is self shuttled. We have a trip down there with 20-30 people at least twice a year. Your always welcome to join us. Give me a call or PM.

BTW: John is another Michigan guy. Only now, he lives in a different state.

I'll post up soon with the Helmet cam footage of the trail with the roadgap and Dropout.

had some folks out recently who've seen your vid.
QUOTE, "i recognize the trail, but it didn't show how steep most of it is !!"
