here is my full face that I just got done recently. It still has the masking tape on in in these pictures and needs to be put back together but I wanted to post it first. I do airbrush work too but this style isn't like anyone else's so I want to focus on hand painting stuff.

That's kind of where I learned from! About 15 or so years ago I used to paint surfboards. At that time I started out having to copy Brophy's style. The flag helmet is original, the half shell is not. The half shell is from a lost surfboard that my son liked. So yes, it should look the same, good eye.

That is going to look so sick once it's been clear coated!

They are both still sick work. You've got the style pinned. First time I've seen it in mtb community. Looks like you've got more lids in the background, keep the images coming!

Thanks, I have been doing this stuff for now over 15 years, but never on helmets. So I am venturing into this territory, and personally, I love it!

I will post more soon.

Come on...somebody put this on a helmet:

actually it's funny you bring that up. I have a helmet coming up that I'm painting with some sort of demon on it...maybe on a horse firing off an M4..shells flying everywhere, bodies on the ground etc. haven't worked out the details or drawings yet, just talk and a deposit.

and while involving epic battle, totally unrelated to Frank Frazetta or Conan. Paint the helmet Luke, but don't be surprised if you're pulled into it and devoured....

I'm looking for some advice guys. I'm painting my troy lee and i've come up with a small design, just keeping it simple for my first paint job. I did an old motorbike helmet as a practice and it turned out well but the stripes just werent quite straight. They were'nt bad but they just didnt look good enough so i'm just wondering if any of the professionals out there can give me tips or advice on how to get the lines perfectly straight. Are there any special techniques or is it just a case of being very patient until i get the tape perfectly lined up?

*Cant seem to get the picture to work. I'm right clicking, then properties, then copying the address and then pasting it into the add image section in my reply.

You'll need to first upload your image somewhere online that will allow you to link your photo up.

Then all you'll need to do is hit the "
" icon when you're typing out your msg and paste the URL of the image in the box that pops up.
