Already seeing anti-trump “friends” on FB complaining that Biden isn’t liberal or progressive enough, and that he only won because people didn’t want trump, not because of his policies (which is a fair point). They’re already beating the progressive drums and posting articles with AOC’s face everywhere, and bitching about how there’s no room for centrists and moderates. Well, now that I’ve hacked a few trumpers out of my feed, I guess I know which pack of assholes is getting hacked away next.

That's a specific reaction to Nancy Pelosi. About some specific things she said. That's not drum beating as much as it is telling her and her two bigass freezers with Hagen das to fuck off.

Playing friends of the status quo just about got us a fascist dictator. We shout probably do something about that.

The bigger problem is that it would seem those one the right, moderates and extremists alike, will happily support an autocratic maniac that shares non of their supposed ideals other than sticking it to the libs while those in the left get super uncomfortable around someone who doesn't perfectly align with their ethos.

It sure seems to be a specific reaction to Joe when the rings being posted only mention him by name, and seem to be about him as president-elect.

Regardless. If you can’t wait a fucking week after the election to start complaining about how the guy who won, and isn’t even in the office yet, is already not doing enough progressive work to change the world, then you can go fuck yourself.

I think there seems to be significant polling in the US that people actually want things like universal healthcare, green infrastructure and cuts to the military, but its all so poisoned by the right, and terms used to describe it in popular discourse. You can’t even use the word socialist usefully because 50% of people don’t seem to actually understand what it means.

I can also understand the desire to pressure Biden for this stuff because there’s already been shit bandied about like including Dick Cheney as a military advisor. Green new deal vs. Foreverwars?

Before they get their panties in a bunch let's make sure the conservative democrats actually make it into office. Am I the only one concerned that a garbage Republican nominated judiciary can yank the rug from under reality?

Well, if the far left starts making too much noise right out of the gate, it sure seems to set the stage for a super "I told you so" conservative douche bag to start campaigning for 2024.

Hes picking his cabinet recs and writing executive orders RIGHT NOW. Sorry if that doesn't jibe with your preapproved timeline regarding how people should be lobbying the govt they just elected.

If there is significant demand for this stuff (not just those who think it would be nice but not necessary) then I think it's Biden's role to set the ball up for someone else to spike it over then net. He's not the guy to bring about any radical reform, but given that he's all but guaranteed to be a single term president he's in a position to lay some groundwork, and even be a bit of a sacrificial goat.

He's all but said exactly that himself

Pay attention. That's Going to happen if they nominate abe frickin lincoln. They just ran a presidential campaign against Bernie Sanders who wasn't even the candidate

Lobbying is one thing; shitting on the guy another. If you're already taking to social media to shit on him, which is what I'm already seeing, then you're just a liberal equivalent of a trump supporter, and thus you can go fuck yourself off into some place I can ignore you.

Well I cant see whatever it is you're reacting to on your screen and I dont "social media" so you're kind of yelling over my head. I. discussing some specific things aoc has said regarding cabinet picks and pelosi shooting her mouth off about making friends with Republicans that will tell her to fuck off either way.

I don't think she's the farthest left, but she's representative of what the right thinks is left.
Those aren't the same things. When is what fox news thinks importantto real discussions? They just abandoned the ogre they made out of hate and white claw cans.

I also think there's a sense of urgency here to right the ship quickly. Both in the very real damage trump has done to govt infrastructure, and to fix some of the systemic problems that allowed us in this hole to begin with. Things that remove some of the unitary executive protections that have accumulated over the last 40 years. That's not extreme, that's the prevention of monarchy. Our founders had some thoughts on that. And unlike slavery, that was one of the good thoughts.

See the edit I made, which you might’ve missed as you were posting. She’s also a lefty poster child for progressive. Since you don’t “social media” or see what I see, you’ll just have to trust me when I say that I see folks flying her flag as a progressive figurehead. This is the reason for my rant tonight. I checked in on FB and started seeing people in my circle posting pictures of AOC along with text shitting on Biden. Not lobbying for or suggesting progressive direction. Just shitting on Biden before his butt is even in the chair.

This is exactly the point I was making but kidwoo decided to argue with me about it and high five you

...okay not “exactly” but still a big chunk of what I was driving at.

picking Rahm Emmanuel for a cabinet position in light of 2020 cop and community issues is just fucking tone deaf. He deserves shit for that. Since I ignore faceygram, I'll do it here so you can tell at me directly. :D

And I swear to god there are days when aoc sounds like the only Democrat who lives in this country. Muvh less one who ever talks to people outside. Of course that's when I read what she actually says vs what people say she says.

It’s just not the same. I already know you’re a troublemaker, so it’s par for the course. I’m annoyed by the turds who immediately pivoted from “go Joe” to “meh.” I’ve been pretty meh on Joe since day one, so it’s not like I’m surprised there are people who don’t like him.

I haven't been "go Joe" ever save for his effort to displace Trump. We need the noise from the left to remind him to back away from being a sold out career politician. Rahm Emmanuel was one of the if not the most destructive elements in Obama's people.

media blackout
currently:

PA: Biden up by ~46k
GA: Biden up by ~12k
NV: Biden up by ~36k
AZ: Biden up by ~14k

the only state where his lead is decreasing is AZ, but not at a rate where it seems he will lose it based on # of ballots remaining to be counted

That's more aligned with what I'd like to see started within the next four years. Harden the system so that the overall democratic system is less open to abuse. They'll need a Senate majority and since when has any politician ever wanted to give up any level of power.
