morning...

I worked yesterday and get thursday and friday off.

Jason: I watched my father die from lung cancer, a 20+ year smoker. You want to quit visit a hospice, it's not pretty, especially once the cancer moves to the brain. The sooner you quit the lower your chance of getting lung cancer.

morning...

i have been busy with work/school/gym and a new website I'm helping design :-)weee: ) too much stuff to do not enough time in the day to do it.

hey Jason...i hear wine helps. j/k a friend of mine used the patch and it seemed to work for her. key is to start and try...if one doesn't work, try another...until you find the one that does. and don't beat yourself up if you slip here and there...keep the big picture as your goal. you've been smoking how many years? it may take some time to quit. so always give yourself that and don't get discouraged.

left work an hour early yesterday, spent some time at the gym, then did the couch potatoe thing.

Jason>I watched my step mom (also a smoker) go thru chemo and eventually die of throat/lung cancer...a nasty way to go

Morning all, Got up at 5 again and did a spin session with BigT. I'm going to a job fair today, and hopefully I'll have a job by this afternoon.

Did a "high impact" workout last night, lots of push ups and sit ups, but I feel great. Got to put the beat down on some first degrees.

Good morning,

Jason, I quit smoking by going out with the girls down the hall in college and got nearly John Bonham drunk. I was so sick that I never had the desire to smoke after that. I gave away a whole carton of cigarettes and never touched another one. That was uh... 28 years ago.

Rode the Old Pueblo course this weekend. It was cold (never got above 39 degrees) but the course was in great shape. We even experienced some snow flurries after finishing the ride.

morning yinz guys!

Got my second hand laptop up and running with the wireless router last night so I can work on crap from anywhere in the house which is cool. Now I just have to load Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc. on it!

Searched online for some new riding clothes cause, mine are getting whooooped!

I want a couple of nice pairs of Baggies w/chamoix. Anyone have Nema's or Mace? I have a pair of lower end Fox shorts, and like them a bunch, but the chamoix didn't hold "stuff" very well on the higher end pairs I tried on! Then again maybe they have changed the designs since then!

kids are back today, so I have tons of stuff to do before the end of the term!

Have a good day!

I got some Endura singletrack shorts and they are very nice. Well made and fit well. I'm looking to get a pair of the humvee 3/4 length.

Morning all.

Big News: (in classic 'late bloomer' style) Maureen is pregnant! Her due date is early July: Woo Hoo! She's still riding as much as possible and has already begun negotiations on taking turns doing DH runs come fall...I am now fully my father: waiting until my 40's to have children.

Small News: Tigg, you suck: I am now hooked on 24. It's a little over dramatic, but not bad at all. I am also hooked now on Kojack reruns also. The shame....

Other Small News: Laid down the semi-big bucks for my team SRAM/Rockshox/Truvativ order the other day towards my Sinister build...my savings grows smaller and smaller....

Morning - I'm trying to figure out a way to see that Honda Wagon today, but I'm not sure it will happen because after work I have to head to the rink to coach my Mite Bs and this dealership has 9-6pm hours.

Morning... I'm tired. Due to the little ice storm we had up this way yesterday, we closed the casino (where I work) and I got to go home early. Flash-forward to 12:15am when my phone rings and I'm told the power is back on and I need to come back into work to restart our site servers. Great.... So I finish that around 1:30am and get home around 2am. Phone rings again at 5am, and I have to come back into work... :dead: So hear I sit with a large coffee.

Have a good day! :)

Mornin all.

Back to work after a 3day weekend. Saturday was spent with the kids, Sunday was pretty much a waste of a day, yesterday was VERY productive. Now back to the grind.

There was a Stephen King short story called Quitter's Inc. It dealt with it in a rather graphic way.

The removal of fingers I think.

'Morning. I'm tired as hell. Had a 10:00 hockey game last night and I had to play the entire game due to lack of subs. We had one sub and two of our guys were playing hurt, so they just kept subbing for each other. We lost 2-1 to the 1st place team. Nuts.

Congrats, Jim Mac!!

Congrats Jim Mac, morning monkies. Came home from a 3 day weekend in VT to no power and a skating rink for a drive way. House was 50 degrees, but the first thing out of my 4 year olds mouth was 'cool! this will be great for our light sabers'. Power came on sometime during the night. Not much planned for tonight.

Congratulations, Jim Mac!

I'm leaving the office in a few minutes to head over to the real estate lawyers office to close on our first house!!!!

A quick recap: We were expecting our first child on the 23rd of this month, with the closing being before that so that we would have time to move in and get settled. Wrong! Kharma said "Let's shake things up a bit." So, in December it threw us a curve ball: Our dog got hit by a car............then the baby decides that it was ready to be born 2 weeks early----OK, that was huge, but we handled it like champs. Now, scarcely a week later, we have to close on our house, and get everyting moved in a week!! Every waking moment has been spent packing and cleaning, changing diapers and feeding babies!! Whew!! Man, I'm ready for a vacation..............but now that I've become a homeowner, I can't afford it!! :clapping:

I just read the posts I missed,

congrats J-MAC! good for you!

Oh, and Greyhound, that is great, and a good attitude! The house will be just what you need. It is great to be able to have your own home. Just don't get freaked when they tell you, "ok so you are buying the house for 100K and you will, over the course of this mortgage, pay 286K:shocked: .......... I almost fainted! it is some astronomical figure that will boggle your mind (obviously the figures are not accurate, but it sure did mess with my head)

good luck to both of you!

Jason - Definitely get support from your friends &/or family. I have MANY relatives that I watched smoke, get diagnosed with cancer & die. Smoking is a tough habit to break. Maybe try chewing gum whenever you want a smoke?

Nice work man, my wife is due in early July as well - though I won't be in my forties.

UKJason: The key to quiting smoking is having the desire to quit. If you don't truly want to quit, you'll always find an excuse to slip up and then you're back at square one. Once you've decided you want to quit, go talk to your health care provider about their recommended approach.
