Do you have a bicycle? From what you've shown of the 3rd world traffic and what Google Maps shows regarding streets in Dakar - when the $hit hits the fan a bike is probably going to be the quickest way to the embassy...

Yeah, a bike would probably be way faster. Driving here is ridiculous. I'd probably just get run down while riding my bike, or course...

I've considered bringing a crappy one here and leaving it for a coworker.

I'm pretty sure I could bring it as a 2nd piece of luggage for free.
