Check. I placed the order today. I am sure I can find a rear derailleur, but think I will just go with Force for now. I am not switching calipers or front derailleur for now, so it's quilt time. :poster_oops:

I'm putting them on my Masi Speciale Carbon.

Rival is being moved to the CX bike and the Campy is being relegated to anyone that wants to buy it.
Nice dude, that'll be a sweet ride.
The Red stuff is really, really nice. The shifters are the big upgrade, well cranks too maybe, and the titanium front derailleur is pretty dope too, and the rear has those cool ceramic pulleys, and the brakes are neat too.
To say nothing of that rear cassette as well.

:)

Yeah - I'll eventually get the group, but don't want to wait to try the shifters. That is the reason for keeping the Rival stoppers and front der and going with Force for the back. I have Truvativ Roleur Carbons, which serve me well for now, but I really like the looks of Red. They are money though.

Red shifters feel god damn badass. I couldn't believe how different they felt compared to my Force shifters. And the trim click...nice.

one downside is that they come with Gore Ride-On cables. well, i guess for some it's a plus. it's better than the teflon coated cables Force comes with, but i'm still not a fan of fancy treated cables.

we just built up a Pinarello something for a customer. with Red group (D/A cassette and chain), and Reynolds Attack wheels, total came out to $10k. customer is buying it for his girlfriend.

Can y'all update us on product line comparisons?

Like I think most would compare Veloce to 105, etc.

Where does RED fall in comparison in quality and in price?

Roughly:
Record Dura Ace Red
Chorus Ultegra Force
Does 105 Rival
Campy even
have something
below Chorus? :)

I'm not saying that Dura Ace is equal to Record, etc, that's more philosophical, but that's how the groups go, pricewise anyway.

Campy used to have this good budget group called Centaur, then they had to go and screw the Centaur shifters over.

Yeah. I have set some groups up and can't decide which is nicest to me. I think I prefer Record the least. I am sure it's because of being used to Shimano.
I like Force, but man, Dura Ace is just sooooo nice. The Red I got to check out (not ride) on our show bike felt amazing though, so I'm looking forward to riding it for real.

I always thought that Force = DA and Rival = Ultegra as far as performance price point etc. The Red stuff is just insane.

Anyone priced out Record kits lately? YIKES! Looks likes a major chunk more than D-A....which is $200/300 less than Red.
You have to be a real Campy afficianado to buy record these days. but then again I'm no dyed in the wool campy dude either.

Anything Italian is stupid right now.

Fortunately for the Campy users, Colorado Cyclist is a bunch of whores and you can buy it somewhat cheaply from them.

Yeah thats what Our reps were telling us too, Feeding to us that its actually a step above DA. I havent had a chance to ride the res yet, but the force was awesome. We have an 08 Madone coming in next week with Red shifters for one of our team riders. Cant wait to build it upi and test ride it, seeing how it my size and everything!!!

NORCAL is the hizzle
The Red stuff seems sweet, but I'm a campy guy.

Never like the ergonomics of shimano/dura ace, and the cable routing is too busy. Works fine, just not for me.

For that matter, all the top-end stuff works at an incredibly high level so to me the differences are subjective.
