The e13 was over engineered in my experience. In fact, I'm using the same bars I had with one in the past, and it wouldn't clamp because there wasn't enough space between the mounting points before it bottomed out. I ended up cutting shims out of a can of beer until I bought a different stem.

Lolwut. I ran 3-4 different bars in it, never had any problems.

I can take photos of the marks mine left in my bars. It wore the anodization off where it's supposed to clamp. The bulge on my bars started to narrow before the end of the clamp, and the stem couldn't tighten any further.

You mean the pinch bolt in the upper crown? Which fork, newer generation Boxxer?

Andrew, after riding on the trail bike a bit this year, I wanted to try to get my bars in a similar position on the big bike since I'm fairly tall, the Demo has such a short headtube, and the stock DM stem drops the bars lower on top of everything. Not sure what the deal is with your Franking bike project and the headtube length/stack height, but for a couple beers the stem is all yours. Stem is forged 6061 and is plenty strong. Let me know.
