Man, I absolutely love that bike. What didn’t you like? The stupid stock brakes and shifters? I stripped it down to the frame, and built it up with Ultegra. Fastest ‘road’ bike I own. I have gone 76mph down Teton Pass on that thing.

I loved it but I broke 4. I stripped mine as well did Force 1. After the second it was pretty laughable.

I am in a small town outside of Puerto Vallarta called Mascota.
And FUCK YES, I would recommend the guides! Great riders, and super-fun dudes. They are the same dudes who organize the Trans Sierra Norte in Oaxaca, which I am going to in October. I got the best compliment I have ever received today, they said that “how I ride and how I act, they thought I might be Canadian”.

So they are good liars.

Where did they break?
I’ll have to keep my eye on it.
Two broke around the wedge seat post clamp and two broke half way down the seat tube.
The Giant rep admitted that most of the XL frames were breaking. Giant was awesome about the replacement. I guess the current generation have a little more material in those areas on the XLs.

Attempted the Stagecoach 400 ride. Made it only about 250 miles. My pinky and ring finger are numb and cant hold the handlebar. Too much riding with one hand position on traditional grips, scratching my brain to why I didn't put on the ergon grips with bar ends. Knees are okay now but did seem like they could have gone south pretty soon without rest. Below my neck is a pain also. The hand issue really is the most concerning to me now.

We got some rain Sunday/Monday this week so I got out on the trails yesterday to enjoy some textbook hero dirt. Here is one of my runs down a very steep trail in Santa Cruz. Enjoy!

It's a snow-bridge across a creek about 8" wide, but it won't last much longer. Rode at 5-something AM this morning to get out while stuff was still frozen. Overcast skies kept heat in and it only barely froze...some did not. It's ending fast.

Snow bridge is nearly gone. Still rode it.

Some jackass came along and cut down a live tree on the side of the trail, it was intended for this to be a tight spot and a qualifier for the rest of the trail and it was plenty possible to ride thrift with 810+, black diamond trail, so it was kind of the point…

Those jackasses with the tree.

Thoughts and prayers for that bridge tho.
