I can tell that it is not a race bike. Although it pedals very well, I was impressed by that. The 25 tooth chainwheel is perfect. The chainline is perfect and shifted spot on! i was able to carry alot of speed through the rough stuff without thinking about what I was running over. So I am told, I was landing further out than any racer at the drop at the bottom of this particular course. i just felt very confortable and confident on this bike which I had only ridden two times prior to the race (my two practice runs)

I do think that I must have bottomed out the rear suspension. I also think I blew a foot off the pedal and that is why I pogo'd a nose manual into the spectators. I dont know enough about the TMX suspension design and or flaws but I'm calling Avalanche to see if I can get some work done for my Any or maybe get a MTN-3 made to work with the TMX.

Overall, I am very happy with the bike, thanks Christian, and i hope to be better and be at the Angel Fire, New Mexico DH race in a couple weeks.

Like having a car that can perform excellently down the strip and then behave on the road. However, if I could, in the future I would imort a Ford 430CI racing block and get a company I know of to bore it out to 815CI (16L), put a Turbonetics (I think, or the other familiar name company) Thumper T-106 (2250BHP :o ). Mental. One day...

Does anyone knoe if BMW decide a period of time of number of frames to be produced?
Plain old gasoline is insanely expensive over there, I'd hate to see the cost of C116 per liter

one writes slammin ad-copy and sends it in asap.

then one must make one's own jack shaft sticker because another one doesn't think those original stickers are available anymore. but one will check with other one and get back to the first one with the answer.

I haven't read the whole thread... but you better build that bike up with as many gold parts as possible! Polished alu/chrome is a great match for gold components. Depending what rims and other components you're running, spend the time and effort to polish them up too, we need as much shiny stuff as possible on that rig!

your thoughtful mention eases some of the pain of no longer having the privlege to claim mine as the one-and-only. its maker fought hard to keep it from happening but i knew this was inevitable. kind of surprised it didn't happen sooner. sweet reign while it lasted. cheers xy9ine!

xy9ine, I think what ^^that really means is that at any time of the night tonight, a shiny black van is gonna park in front of your house and a bunch of tall men in black suits and black sunglasses are gonna 'escort' you away from your house blindfolded...

Killer chroming though ;) :D :thumb:

cheers! thanks for the vote of confidence. starting to bolt the thing back together - looking very sweet. i'm waiting for a jackshaft gear and a sticker set from bmw, so it'll most likely be a few weeks before its rolling. i'm stoked to see what the ride is like; it's surprisingly compact for a large-travel frame - about 2" shorter than my v10. should be interesting.
