I am not talking down on the glory, i want that to be known.I dont know why he got a kona, but not everybody likes the giant bikes;or any other manufacturer for that matter. In my opinion (with no research done) I think the Jamis BAM is the best deal. Fox 40, full saint 823s, ect.

You obviously haven't seen the spec on a Glory 0. At the same price or little less, plus Giant gives you a lifetime waranty.
Jamis is notorious for having problems, i can't believe a Jamis is going for that much money.

dont get me started on problems, i sold my frame the day i got it. I am also guessing by location you see what goes on at diablo on a daily basis

Giant has a pretty good spec after a quick google. msrp is 5200? Pretty good deal, although id like to see it with the 823s, but thats neither here nor there.

That is the Glory 0 for $5200
the Glory 1 is less and the specs aren't that down graded

FullMonty, is this bike really equipped with Boxxer Race at 4200$ SRP?! Why didn't You pick up i.e. Glory 1? It's much better bike...
well, the stock bike is $3500 in Canada. Also, I work for a Kona dealer, not a Giant dealer. Finally, I like how active Kona is in supporting racing and riders at a grass roots level, and how they make a lot of cool, niche bikes.

I'm curious what you don't like about them?
Just looks more than anything, no issues that Im aware of and performance is top notch from what ive seen. So asthetics mainly and not like I hate the bike LOL Id ride one....

BTW that Kona is really nice and Konas I dont like, plenty of issues with em. But as far as of late i have no Idea and that build looks pretty damn sick! NICE BIKE!

I'm pretty sure You wouldn't want a 5.7kg frame ;) That and random quality is what made me not buy a commencal even though I loved the looks and wanted one for a long time.

I've looked many places and all are stating around 4.5kg/10lb with a rear shock. I doubt that the 5.7kg is even close to correct.

that's w/o shock. 4.5 with was the old supreme dh. The many places you've seen prolly just compied the site and assumed it's with shock as the old one was with. Considering there is a scale shot of the supreme (the smaller one) at 4.9kg with shock I doubt that the dh version is lighter. Also a friend of mine weighted his and according to him it was 5.7kg though I've seen no scale shots.

wow, alot of people hating on the kona's. My roommate just picked one up. Pretty much immediately yanked the fork and shock off to sell in favor of a vivid 5.1 and boxxer team. No ride report yet, so no idea how the suspension will function yet, but it comes stock with a floater so I can't imagine breaking performance will be a real issue, and the pivot looks nicely placed. Pulled the pivots apart to loctite and torque to correct spec, and discovered they'd already been loctited and torqued to correct spec (good for kona, actually doing things right, imagine that).

Geometry feels fuggin dialed. Feels better then the demo glory 0 I rode at N* (from a geo standpoint). Only complaint is in the low slack setting, the front end feels a little high (this is all without real ride time on it, just playing around in the parking lot, but you can usually get a pretty good feel for geo from parking lot tests). Seems like it could be easily remedied with a canfield stem or a 0 stack headset. Weight out of the box was 41.6lbs with uncut steer and seatpost. Not bad. Comes with a tapered HT.

Seems like a pretty solid bike to me, don't know why everybody is hating on them, the stab geo is dialed race geo.

i have an 08 stab i have been on it every weekend from may1st to nov. 1st for the past 2 seasons, east coast riding diablo, platty, whiteface, blue mt, etc.
i paid less than $2700.00 new. i have only replaced one set of pads, 2 rear tires, its a work horse, dont listen to the haters, if you like the way your bike rides does it matter what brand it really is

and innovative, i mean just look at that headtube badge...
On the assumption this is derisive sarcasm, I'm sorry that there's like two or three people that don't care that much about having the trendiest bike in the universe.

here is my pos, (not really) no e13 on it.

on another note thanks for the heads up on the 303 in the other thread(sweet disco btw) was thinking of replacing the 46+ lb kona after this season with the 303
Ill be completely honest, the chances that you get a deffective frame like i got are pretty slim. As i said posting it everywhere i was only able to find 2 other people with the problem, the real reason id stay away from yeti is their CS. The chances you get a nonproblem 303 are pretty good, but if you do, your on your own.

Hi,
how are you liking the F5?
I am trying to sell a s/m 2009 frame for $1700 if you know anyone else that might like one.

THANKS,
KYLE

My '10 race bike

I've had it out a few times now and it feels good. I am planning some mods though. I would like to try it with a lower BB and slacker head angle. So my plan is to get some new links (the ones from the swing arm to the shock and swing link) made. If I get some that are 10mm longer it should drop the BB about 15-20mm and slacken the HA by almost a degree but the rear tyre shoud not quite hit the seat or seat tube.
I will update with some new photos when it is done.

no srsly. There's some custom work going on with that chainguide, it looks like an MRP G2 lower with an E13 upper? Or is it all custom roller?
