With all the forces coming through the frame from the bike stand I can't believe it hasn't shattered into a million unrecycleable pieces yet.
No tube above the shock mount on the mainframe, roundish looking shock hole,...

nothing new there. The team used 12x150 last year Spec didn't put it into production.
Sure looks carbon to me. No sign of any welds in the shock opening which is the most clearly visible part of the picture.
Hmmm, maybe because the "shock opening" is a one piece forging made out of ALUMINUM.

Enlarge the picture a bit. No weld between the shock opening and downtube. No welds between the seat and top tubes either.
Guess we'll find out who the joker is tomorrow.

kinda looks like a black vinyl on a silver frame; like the disguise wraps that are done on pre production cars. i'm seeing areas that could be weld beads as well...
How much more black could it be? Of course the answer is none.....none more black.
I agree, I enlarged it and saw welds. The dropouts and the big weld in the "glory hole" thing gave it away easily. Just a black paintjob to me
I believe its called 'Project Black', Brendan mentioned he'd be running it at Maribor at a race a few weeks ago.
Well, it's definitely black, that's for sure! 
definitely looks like some welds in there if you brighten the pic up... Given the cost of making carbon it would be a HUGE investment for a prototype frame, but there are parts of this pic that look very Carbon like too.... guess we'll have to wait and see

it does look nicely refined however, even if it is just lowly aluminum.
I'm hoping it is AL, price will be cheaper. Curious to hear about any geo changes. Hopefully keeps the large super long for us tall folks.

That would be a mix between a demo 8 and a sx trail was wondering how long it would take them to mix the two together both two great bikes mixed into one looks like a sx front end and a demo rear end...there's more black vinyl on that than a michael jackson album...
I want to see them bring back the demo 9, that bike is awesome.

looks like Brendan Fairclough's bike from the sdg seat you can always spot the knobs..

whats not to fault they did the same last year with the demo 8 there pr and marketing is top job again they steal all the headline's, making you want something you dont need getting all the kids to guess what weight the bike rides in at , as for the demo 9 it was a great bike but was far to heavy for racing world cups on but theres no point moaning and having a 20 page topic about the weight of a bike if your not racing world cups ..
i hear ya, i just miss the gold old days, where **** lasted forever, and the weight wasnt omfg 19.999 pounds. I have seen 40 lb demo 9s, its do-able, but i guess not profitable
